Our suppliers are vital business partners. We expect them to share our commitments and adhere to the same standards that we set for ourselves for ethical and responsible conduct, while at the same time providing the highest-quality products and services. The Novolex Supplier Code of Conduct provides suppliers with expectations for their behavior on a broad scope of activities. Our Code calls on suppliers to adopt practices designed to minimize the impact of their operations on the environment, promote worker health and safety and respect human rights. Supplier responsibility also includes adherence both to the letter and spirit of laws and regulations. Adherence to our Code is also a requirement of Novolex contractual terms and conditions. Novolex will not do business with suppliers or organizations that engage in the use of illegal, forced or involuntary labor, human trafficking, child labor or other unfair or discriminatory labor practices. The protection of human rights in the workplace is of paramount importance to Novolex. Our Code obligates suppliers to respect and protect those rights as well as ensure the health and safety of their employees. Our Code explicitly states that suppliers shall not use forced labor or employ workers procured through the use of human trafficking. Suppliers must adhere to all laws and regulations designed to prevent such practices, which include the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015 and The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and with which our own business practices are aligned. If we suspect human rights are being abused or have reason to believe suppliers are not adhering to our Code’s requirements, we will take action to ensure those concerns are addressed. We reserve the right to conduct third-party audits of suppliers to verify compliance with our standards and require corrective actions. If necessary, we will terminate a supplier’s contract.
As part of our commitment to responsible business conduct, we provide suppliers and their employees with access to an independent Ethics and Compliance Helpline that can be used to report potential violations of our Code without fear of retribution. Our Helpline, accessible by email or telephone, uses an automated system for an efficient assessment and investigative process.
