Stanley (Stan) Bikulege is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Novolex, responsible for all aspects of the company’s business. A packaging industry veteran, Bikulege has more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing and service businesses. Before joining Novolex as Chairman and CEO in 2008, Bikulege was an Operating Partner at Arsenal Capital where he was responsible for a number of its portfolio companies including serving as Chairman of IDQ, a leading provider of automotive air conditioning products. Prior to that served as President and CEO of Renaissance Mark, a leading manufacturer of labels in North America which was sold to Ft. Dearborn, a Genstar portfolio company. Earlier in his career, Bikulege was the President and CEO of Sterling Group portfolio company Exopack, a leading producer of plastic and paper packaging. Bikulege serves on the Flexible Packaging Association Board of Directors, where he is a past Chairman, and on the board of A&R Logistics as well as RLG. He has served on the Board of Directors of Paragon, Source Refrigeration, IMDS, Interdynamics and M33 and has been a Trustee for St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Greenville, South Carolina and Coker College. Through his family foundation, he has endowed academic scholarships at Youngstown State University, the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville and Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA in addition to supporting numerous other non-profits to help those in need. Bikulege holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Youngstown State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.
Gary Alstott is Chief Procurement Officer of Novolex, responsible for the company’s global supply chain as well as its personal protective equipment business and manufacturing operations at its Heritage can liner and Hilex plastic retail bag businesses. With deep expertise in areas ranging from sales to operations management, Alstott brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in procurement and supply chain management. Before joining Novolex, Alstott served a variety of executive roles at Signode Industrial Group, including as President of Protective Packaging and Executive Vice President of Global Purchasing and Operations. Prior to that, Alstott served in leadership positions at Cooper Standard Automotive, the Schaeffler Group, AxleTech International and ArvinMeritor. Alstott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue, a Master of Business Administration in Operations Management from the University of Indianapolis and a Juris Doctor in law degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy.
David Cowfer is Senior Vice President of Human Resources, responsible for overseeing the company’s global human resources function. With wide-ranging expertise in strategic human resources and corporate communications, Cowfer brings more than 35 years of experience at both public and private companies. Cowfer joined Novolex in 2015 as Senior Vice President for Human Resources. Prior to this role, Cowfer served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Arizona Chemical LLC, a leading pine chemicals company. Before that, Cowfer served in a variety of human resources leadership capacities for International Paper, Eaton Corporation and Westinghouse. He has also served as a volunteer and board member for numerous charitable organizations including United Way. Cowfer holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Penn State University.
Paul Frantz is Chief Commercial Officer of Novolex, responsible for developing and driving revenue growth at the company. With considerable expertise in sales and business development, Frantz brings more than 25 years of varied experience across multiple sales and leadership roles. Frantz joined Novolex in 2015 as Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this, he had served as Executive Vice President/General Manager of Schwarz Supply Source, a supply chain and logistics provider to the retail channel. Before joining Schwarz, Frantz spent 17 years with Pliant/Huntsman Packaging in a variety of senior-level sales operations and general management positions, including serving as Senior Vice President/General Manager Performance Films and Senior Vice President Marquee Accounts. Frantz began his career working in sales for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company’s plastic packaging division. Frantz holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Finance from Baylor University.
Grant Gamble is Vice President and General Manager, Shields and Specialty Packaging, where he is responsible for driving the P&L performance of the group, one of the leading producers of flexible packaging in North America with six extrusion and converting plants. With significant expertise in manufacturing, Gamble brings more than 30 years of corporate leadership and diverse experience in the flexible packaging industry. Before joining Novolex in 2013, Gamble served as President and Chief Operating Officer of FlexSol Packaging, a Sigma Plastics Group company with four manufacturing plants nationwide. Prior to that, he was President of Caliber Management, providing management, consulting and due diligence services in a variety of areas. Before then, Gamble served in various positions at Pliant (now Berry Global), including Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain and Vice President of Product Development. Gamble holds a dual Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Engineering.
Christopher Klein is General Counsel of Novolex, responsible for managing all legal matters for the company. With more than 10 years of experience in the packaging industry, Klein brings substantial legal and business expertise to Novolex. Before becoming General Counsel of Novolex, Klein served as General Counsel of Duro Bag, a leading manufacturer of paper bags and sacks in North America and acquired by Novolex. Klein began his career in the packaging industry with Duro Bag, where he held a variety of positions, including Manager of Strategic Initiatives and Business and Legal Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Klein previously held a board position on the Renewable Bag Council within the American Forest & Paper Association. He also previously worked in Washington, D.C. as a Congressional Fellow. Klein holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Northern Kentucky University and a law degree from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where he focused on corporate and international business law.
Patrick Manning is Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Novolex, responsible for business strategy and all corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity. With more than 25 years of diverse experience, Manning has worked in business development, finance, strategy, M&A, integration, operations, real estate, project management and sales team management. He has extensive experience at private equity owned and public companies, including in the telecommunications, technology, industrial, automotive, heavy truck, distribution, OEM and aftermarket industries. Before joining Novolex, Manning served as Vice President, Corporate Development at CommScope and as Vice President of Business Development at Affinia Group. Prior to this, he served in a variety of roles at Dana Holdings Corp. and Echlin Inc. Manning holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Southern Connecticut State University.
Ben Mascarello is Chief Operating Officer of Novolex, responsible for overseeing all of the company’s manufacturing operations. With expertise in a wide variety of areas, including operations strategy, sales and business integration, Mascarello brings more nearly 30 years of leadership experience in manufacturing and consulting. Mascarello joined Novolex in 2007 and became Chief Operating Officer in 2012. Prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer, Mascarello served in a variety of leadership roles at Novolex, including Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development and Chief Revenue Officer. Before joining Novolex, Mascarello was a Director at AlixPartners, where he worked with a number of companies in both advisory and interim management roles. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Korsnas Packaging Inc., as an Associate Director of Arthur D. Little and as a Manager at Bethlehem Steel Corp. Mascarello holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University.
Paul Palmisano is Chief Financial Officer of Novolex, responsible for managing the company’s finances, including planning, budgeting and forecasting. A senior executive with extensive expertise in finances, Palmisano brings more than 30 years of experience in world-class public and private equity companies. Palmisano joined Novolex in 2012. Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Performance Fibers, a global industrial fiber manufacturer. Prior to that, Palmisano served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the construction products and catalyst and material technologies divisions of W.R. Grace. Earlier in his career, Palmisano held a variety of key financial leadership positions at Honeywell International and DuPont and was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force serving as a Brazilian-Portuguese linguist. Palmisano earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri and an advanced language certification from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA.
Adrianne Tipton is Senior Vice President of Innovation, responsible for driving innovation in new product development, product management and product marketing at Novolex. With more than 20 years of experience, Tipton brings extensive expertise in a wide variety of areas, including business strategy, marketing, research and new product development. Before joining Novolex, she was Vice President of Business Research for ORC International as well as Vice President of New Product Development and Marketing for Cenveo (formerly National Envelope). Previous to that, Tipton served a variety of critical roles in research and development at Clorox and was Key Account Manager/Senior Process Engineer for Novellus Systems. Tipton holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in chemistry from Northern Arizona University, a PhD in synthetic bioorganic chemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno and a post-doctoral fellowship from the Center for Metals in Biocatalysis from University of Minnesota.
Matthew Winokur is Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, responsible for the company’s internal and external communications, public affairs and sustainability programs building on more than 35 years of experience working in these disciplines. Before joining the company, Winokur had been serving as a key consultant to Novolex while heading his own firm. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Sustainability and Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Axalta Coating Systems, a global industrial paint and coatings manufacturer. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President for Ogilvy Public Relations and held a variety of global corporate affairs positions at The Altria Group and its Philip Morris International division. He serves as an advisor to the Paris based Responsible Mica Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to eradicating child labor in the mica supply chain. Winokur holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College, a Master of Arts degree from McMaster University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the NYU Stern School of Business.
